Academic year

Τhe academic year starts on September 1 every year and ends on August 31 of the next year.
Academic year is organized in two semesters, the fall semester and the spring semester, each of which comprises 13 weeks of teaching and three weeks of exams.
Fall semester courses start in October and end in late January, followed by the exam period of the fall semester.
Spring semester courses start in the end of February and end of June, followed by the exam period of the spring semester.

Exact dates are determined by the University Senate.

Exams

Fall semester courses are examined during the exam period January-February and resit exams are held in September.
Spring semester courses are examined during the exam period of June and resit exams are held in September.

Resit exams in September are offered for the students that have failed on the previous exams periods of each semester.

Course evaluation 

Students evaluate their courses, instructors as well as the infrastructures of the Department, before the end of every semester, in order to improve the quality of their studies.

The evaluation procedure is supervised by Quality Assurance Unit (https://modip.uop.gr/index.php) of the University of the Peloponnesse.

Quality Assurance Unit produces reports and statistics about the quality of the studies and services offered by the Department.

Holidays

Summer holidays: from mid of July to the end of August.
Christmas Holidays: December 24 to January 7.
Easter Holidays: from the Monday of Easter Week to the Sunday after Easter Sunday.

Monday of Lent.
November 17: Students’ uprising in the National Technical University of Athens against the junta in 1973.
October 28: National celebration (National Holiday).
January 30: The Three Patron Saints of Education Day.
March 25: National Anniversary of the revolution of 1821 against the Ottoman occupation (National Holiday).
May 1: Labour Day.
Holy Spirit Day: Monday (after Pentecost).
