The Department of Food Science and Technology grants student scholarships and awards that aim to 

➢ reward excellent students
➢ provide incentives to increase student performance

The scholarships and awards offered by the department are:
i) Excellence Scholarships awarded to students who have completed their studies until the examination
period of June in the 5th year of their studies with a final degree grade of at least 8.5.
ii) Outstanding Performance Scholarships awarded to students in the first four (4) years of their studies
with an average of at least 8.5 in all the courses of the academic year and a passing mark after their first
assessment in all the courses of the academic year.
iii) Distinguished Performance Awards awarded to students who:
a) complete their studies with a degree grade of at least 7.5 by the examination period of June of the 5 th
year of their studies
b) have the highest average in the total number of the courses of the academic year in each of the four
(4) first years of their studies and a) have passed all the courses within the respective academic years
including the examination period of September and b) have not failed courses in previous years (as long
as they do not fall under category ii).
